I find it funny that our landlord is a bone fide holiness trinity pentecostal church lady and that our new apartment is owned by her church. It really is, in a sense, her church. She and her husband started it up not sure how long ago but at least decades ago. Her husband died and now one of her three sons is the pastor. God, life, the universe, whatever must have a good sense of humor to put me and The Husband there. I tend to stay as far away as possible from churches and church people, especially denim skirt wearing, long hair in bun, church ladies. We tend to not get along real well. Which is why I find it funny that me and the landlady hit it off almost immediately. We have a few of those types of congregations but the biggest difference between the ones here and the one we found down south is that the southern people are NICE. They smile, talk to you and rent out their church owned apartments to people who don't belong to their church and even to a woman like me who cuts her hair and wears pants. lol. The only thing she was concerned about is that we were married. They don't allow unmarried folks to live together. We showed her our wedding rings and asked if she wanted us to produce the weddin' license too. She laughed at me and told us "No" but there was one couple that she shoulda done that with. When she gave us the contract to sign I was a little nervous, I was afraid we'd be required to not play cards or bring liquor on to the premises and that church attendance would be required. *whew* Its not. We did, however, have to promise not to turn the place into a meth lab. :)

Hey, she had good reason to ask you not to turn her place into a meth lab. That happened to my grandma's house (right above mine, where my brother now lives) when we rented it out. One night the narcotics police came down and told us to go to our basement in case it blew up!!!! EEEK!!
